Since 2020, She Sends Collective has been committed to creating accessible climbing education opportunities for women and genderqueer climbers. We believe that high-quality instruction should be financially accessible to our community, and we’ve worked toward that vision through direct subsidization from our founder, through participants who choose to pay it forward for future climbers, and through donations.
We are equally committed to creating learning environments that feel safe, supportive, and inclusive. Through trauma-informed education provided to our guides and volunteers, we strive to better equip our team to hold space for the mental and emotional realities of climbing. Because climbing isn’t just a physical pursuit — it’s also deeply mental and emotional — our community deserves spaces where people can learn, grow, and feel supported.
All programs are offered through either a donation-based or tiered pricing model, allowing participants to contribute in a way that feels aligned with their financial situation. Additional financial assistance is always available if needed — we simply ask that you reach out to us directly at chelsea@shesendscollective.com.
Our education clinics and community events are currently open to women and TGNC climbers only.

Summer Climbing Crew Series
Dates: June 10,17,24 + July 1
Location: Jefferson + Boulder Counties
-
Summer Climbing Crew is a 4-week outdoor climbing series designed to help climbers build consistency, confidence, and connection over time.
Rather than a one-time clinic, this series creates space for ongoing practice and progression through repeated time outside with the same group of climbers each week. Our guide will tailor each session towards the individual needs/interest of each participant. This is only for single pitch terrain.
A core part of this experience is the crew element. Climbing with the same group over multiple weeks allows participants to build trust, deepen connection, learn from one another, and feel more at home in outdoor climbing spaces.
This is a supportive, community-oriented environment focused on progression, practice, and shared experience — with plenty of climbing along the way.
-
Through participation in this series, climbers will:
Build greater confidence and consistency climbing outdoors
Strengthen foundational outdoor climbing systems and practices
Get individualized instruction/guidance
Practice movement, route-reading, and projecting skills over time
Build meaningful connection within the women+ climbing community
Leave with a stronger sense of independence, belonging, and progression outdoors
-
To get the most out of this program, participants should:
Have prior outdoor climbing experience (even if limited)
Be able to confidently top-rope belay
Be open to learning, asking questions, and trying new things
Be comfortable spending multiple evenings outside in varying weather conditions
Participants do not need to:
Lead climb
Have advanced outdoor skills
Feel “strong” or highly experienced
This is a space to build from where you’re at.

Anchors & Rappelling + Progression Package
Dates: June 13
Location: Jefferson or Boulder County, or Staunton
-
This one-day, hands-on clinic is designed to help climbers build the technical skills needed for safer and more independent outdoor climbing. The focus of this course is on anchors, cleaning, and rappelling — not on climbing performance.
Participants will begin with “ground school,” where they will learn and practice foundational systems on anchor boards and ground-based setups before transitioning to real-world application at the cliff.
Throughout the day, climbers will gain hands-on experience building and assessing anchors, cleaning routes, and setting up and executing rappels under guide supervision.
This clinic is ideal for climbers who are beginning to transition outdoors, looking to better understand technical systems, or wanting to take more ownership in their climbing experience.
The learning environment is supportive, trauma-conscious, and community-oriented, with an emphasis on understanding systems rather than memorizing steps.

Multipitch 101 + Progression Packages
Dates: June 20
Location: Jefferson or Boulder County
-
Our Multi-Pitch 101 course (1 day) is designed to help climbers build the skills and confidence needed to move efficiently and safely through longer, multi-pitch routes. Together, we’ll cover foundational systems including building multi-pitch anchors, transitioning between leader and follower roles, rappelling from multi-pitch terrain, staying organized at belays, and problem-solving common challenges you may encounter on route.
This clinic is intentionally hands-on and skills-focused. We’ll spend time learning and practicing systems in low-risk environments before applying them in a vertical setting with guidance, feedback, and support from our instructors. We’ll also dive into route planning, navigation, gear considerations, and how to prepare for bigger objectives beyond the clinic.
Our goal is to create a supportive learning environment where you can ask questions, build confidence in your systems, and leave with tools to continue practicing and progressing on your own adventures.
Because most of our time will be spent focused on technical skills and movement systems rather than climbing hard, we recommend bringing comfortable shoes you can spend the day in.
-
Participants will build foundational skills and systems for climbing longer routes safely and efficiently, including:
Multi-pitch systems & flow
Efficient anchor transitions
Rope management
Belay changeovers
Communication systems
Route strategy & planning

Introductory problem solving in multi-pitch terrain
-
This clinic is ideal for climbers who:
Have prior outdoor climbing experience
Are comfortable lead belaying and lowering
Want to transition into multi-pitch climbing
Are interested in building confidence on longer routes
Want mentorship in technical systems and efficiency

Intro to Rescue Skills
Dates: June 28
Location: Jefferson County, Boulder County, or Staunton
-
Our Intro to Rescue Skills Clinic is designed to give climbers the confidence, knowledge, and hands-on practice to respond calmly and effectively when challenges arise. This course focuses on practical, real-world problem solving rather than memorizing rigid drills. Participants will learn foundational rescue techniques including ascending a rope, assisting a climber through difficult terrain, transferring a belay, and simple rappel rescue systems — all while exploring scenarios that reflect situations climbers may actually encounter outdoors.
This is a skills-intensive clinic centered on repetition, practice, and building systems from the ground up. Participants will spend most of the day learning and refining techniques in a low-risk environment with guidance and feedback from experienced instructors. The emphasis is on developing critical thinking, communication, and confidence so climbers leave with tools they can adapt to many situations at the crag.
-
By the end of this clinic, participants will:
Build familiarity and confidence with essential climbing and rescue equipment, including harnesses, helmets, ropes, belay devices, friction hitches, slings, cordelettes, carabiners, and other foundational systems used in single pitch climbing.
Learn and practice fundamental rescue skills for single pitch climbing scenarios, including belay takeovers, assisting a stuck climber, ascending a rope using standard and improvised techniques, and safely lowering systems with another climber attached.
Explore rescue and problem-solving techniques while belaying from above, including assisting and hauling a climber through challenging terrain.
Develop confidence and efficiency in descending and rappelling within a single pitch environment.
Gain an understanding of common rescue terminology, systems thinking, and communication practices used in climbing rescue scenarios.
Practice applying skills through hands-on scenarios, guided instruction, repetition, and collaborative learning.
Connect with other women and TGNC climbers in a supportive environment centered on education, empowerment, and shared growth outdoors.
-
Participants should have prior experience top rope climbing and belaying, either indoors or outdoors. At a minimum, participants must be comfortable:
Belaying a climber on top rope safely and independently
Tying into the rope and performing basic partner safety checks
Wearing a harness and spending extended time hanging in it
Communicating clearly with climbing partners using standard climbing commands
This clinic is designed for climbers with foundational climbing experience who are ready to deepen their technical systems knowledge and problem-solving skills in a supportive learning environment. No prior rescue experience is required.
