About the Event

She Sends: Intro to Traditional Climbing:

This clinic is aimed arming each person with the knowledge of how to place traditional climbing gear correctly; this included cams, stoppers and tricams. With this in mind we will dive into  risk assessment, the physics of different placements when confronted with loading, and allow each of you to practice placing gear yourselves on the ground and while mock-leading. The goal of this clinic is to get you more familiar with trad climbing as a practice & build confidence; afterall, practice creates confidence! This clinic is for anyone new to trad climbing (even if you haven't done it before). 

The cost of this clinic is $170. We have a sliding scale available, so if this is something you'd like to utilize, please email us.

Where Will We Climb? Clear Creek Canyon, Golden, CO (meeting location will be emailed with your confirmation after you register)

What Will I Learn? Risk assessment, physics of gear placements, anchors

How Much? $170

Prerequisites? None that are climbing specific, but you must be at least 18 years old to attend. (you don't even have to have experience with climbing outdoors!)

Covid Precautions: A mask will be worn if distances of 6 feet are unable to be maintained.

Do I Need My Own Gear? Harness, shoes, chalk are needed! But we will provide other gear including helmet if you don't have one.
